March/April 2020 Flow

This is the stick figures for the advanced flow we’ve worked on so far this month.
And here’s the video!

This is my first attempt at uploading a video of some practice for you all – click through on the title of the video to watch on YouTube or watch here! It goes straight into the flow sequence so get yourself stretched/warmed up first!

Classes with me & COVID-19 (UPDATED 21/3/20)

There’s lots of information out there about what we should & shouldn’t be doing regarding this outbreak. If you’re not sure what to do, you can check official govt guidelines here.

All my weekly classes are on pause for the duration of the shutdown.

Currently all workshops I have planned are going ahead, but as the situation changes I will reassess.

Workshop: Yoga For Relaxation

Image copyright: Jennifer Rollason Photography

I’ve got a few workshops lined up for spring – this is the first! As always spaces are limited, so get your space reserved via email.

Where:
Bristol YogaSpace

When:
14:00-17:00, Saturday 18th April, 2020

How much?:
£30pp (£25 concessions)

This workshop is a chance to practice a selection of poses that aid in relaxing and calming the mind and body. We will also explore the use of several breathing techniques to aid in our relaxation. There will be an extended guided relaxation session, so please bring blankets and extra layers to keep yourself cosy & warm during the moments of stillness. The studio has plenty of mats and blocks, but if you have other props you like to practice with feel free to bring them along. Parking is available onsite. Tea, coffee and some refuelling treats will be available after the workshop; as will I if there are any questions you want to ask or feedback you want to give after the session.

Welcome to 2020

I hope everyone has had a wonderful time celebrating the turn of another year, and the beginning of a new decade.

A new year often seems like a good time to start something new, and as a teacher I’m returning to foundations. We’re starting the year focusing on finding our grounding; this means lots of different things to different people, but for me it’s about finding actual physical connection with the earth. Expect lots of work in supine, prone and seated positions over the next couple of months so we can work towards stronger standing & balancing poses as the year warms up!

All classes are back on from Tuesday 7th – see you soon!

Class Adjustments 27/9/19

Quick note that next Friday (27th of September) I’ll be over at Bath Racecourse for most of the day, helping the awesome gang at the Jessie May Trust put on a charity pampering day.

Morning classes at Nuffield are covered, but lunchtime class (1300-1400) at Bristol YogaSpace will be cancelled! Evening class (1745-1845) will still be running.

Workshop Announcement: Yoga for Relaxation!

I’m taking a bit of a break over the month of August with fewer classes on the schedule, so I’m putting on a morning workshop on the Bank Holiday weekend if you are missing out on your usual classes!

Where:
The Old Rectory Clinic

When:
9.30am-12.30pm Saturday 24th August, 2019

How much?:
£30pp (£25 concessions)

Workshop Announcement: Inversions!

Time to practice those inversions! Very often we don’t get to practice our full inversions in a short one hour class. This three hour workshop will include all the build-up and preparation to going upside-down and dedicated time to work towards different inverted postures. Working through strengthening, stretching, finding our grounding and our balance, we’ll build up through semi-inversions into all the poses you’ve been dying to try but never quite get to!

Suitable for all levels, though some prior yoga experience would be beneficial.

Where: The Old Rectory Clinic

When: 0930-1230, Saturday 20th April, 2019

Places are limited so book now – £30pp (£25 concessions) – includes refreshments afterwards.

Email: ukrolleryogi@gmail.com to book your place, or if you have any questions!
